Babin Building Solutions Acquires Warehouse Cabinets
Bedford Heights, OH - October 1, 2008 - Babin Building Solutions, a one-stop resource for quality building materials serving commercial and residential customers for 92 years, announces the acquisition of Broadview Heights, OH-based Warehouse Cabinets. Warehouse Cabinets services the home remodeling and new home construction markets and is among the largest single-site distributors of KraftMaid® cabinets and Whirlpool® appliances. The union of these two well-known and established companies is expected to benefit customers through expanded brand-name product offerings, design center locations and design expertise.
Babin and Warehouse Cabinets, the top two cabinet distributors in Northeast Ohio, will come together and take one-stop shopping to new level. "We are excited and energized by the opportunities this new addition brings to the Babin team," says co-owner, Mike Rich. "Warehouse Cabinets has been in business for 18 years and has earned its reputation as a top cabinet and appliance solution provider."
While the acquisition will significantly expand Babin's cabinet offerings, the addition of Warehouse Cabinets' appliance line is a key new benefit to customers. "Babin has always been a one-stop provider of nationally recognized brands, such as Merillat®, Armstrong®, Crystal® and ThermaTru®; in addition to Streelcraft® doors and frames, Schlage® locks and residential and commercial hardware and trim," says co-owner, Harry Mierau. "Warehouse Cabinet customers can now enjoy these product lines, and likewise, Babin's customers will have broader access to cabinet brands such as KraftMaid® and Cardell®; and appliances, such as Amana®, Jenn-Air®, Maytag®, SubZero®, Viking®, Frigidaire®, GE® and more."
According to Rich, Warehouse Cabinets' design and selection center in Broadview Heights will continue operations and is a welcome addition to Babin's existing design centers in Sheffield Village, Bedford Heights and Green.
Both companies' management teams will remain intact. Warehouse Cabinets' Founder, Don Cochran, will play an integral role on the team and be closely involved in the growth of the business. He is enthusiastic about the teaming of Warehouse Cabinets and Babin Building Solutions. Founded in 1916 under the name Babin Door and Sash, and then owned by Forest City Enterprises, Babin Building Solutions came under new ownership and a new name in 2004. The company employs more than 60 people, and currently services the market through its 144,000-square-foot hub location in Bedford Heights and satellite facilities in Sheffield Village and Green.
